Victoria Lee
Treasurer

Victoria Lee was elected UFT treasurer by the executive board on Dec. 4, 2023, becoming the first Asian American to serve as an officer of the UFT. With her years of service to New York City public schools, she brings a deep commitment to fiscal responsibility and member advocacy.

Lee began her teaching career in 1997 at PS 143 in Queens and later joined PS 16, also in Queens, where she was elected chapter leader in 2009. The following year, she trained as a pension consultant for the Queens borough office, balancing her classroom responsibilities with a growing role in member financial education. Her expertise and dedication led to her appointment as a full-time UFT pension representative in 2016.

In this role, Lee has led pension clinics and retirement workshops across the city, equipping thousands of members with knowledge and tools to plan for a secure future. On Feb. 1, 2023, she was elected as a teacher-member trustee of the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS), where she continues to serve as a strong voice for UFT members. Her leadership was reaffirmed by the UFT Delegate Assembly in 2025 with their endorsement for her re-election to the TRS board.

As treasurer, Lee combines financial expertise with a deep, firsthand understanding of educators’ needs, ensuring that ÐãÐãÖ±²¥resources are managed with transparency, integrity and purpose. Her work reflects the union’s core mission: to protect the rights and strengthen the future of New York City’s educators.
