Keeping abreast of policies and legislation that affect art education, disseminating policy information to educators and communicating with policymakers to advocate for our goals

Collaborating with city, state and national organizations that share our concerns to cultivate a strong political voice, provide opportunities for art educators and students, and raise awareness about art education resources and the critical need for art education for all students

Providing resources, networking opportunities and professional development for art educators, including meetings, conferences, workshops, retreats and tours

Sponsoring activities and events that highlight the work of art students and art educators, including NYCATA/UFT Student Art Awards, student art exhibitions and artist-teacher exhibitions

Recognizing outstanding art students, art educators, artist-teachers, administrators, art advocates and school art programs.
